Year 6 Surf Skills Program

Dear Parents and Carers

During Term 4, Year Six students will be involved in a surf awareness program at Maroochydore Beach as part of our Physical Education Program at Kuluin State School. Qualified lifeguards and Maroochy Surf School instructors will assist with the program. Throughout the program students will gain knowledge and skills in the surf. Activities include: surf awareness, surf skills, body boarding and surfing. Please find further information below:

Dates: Friday 11th November, Friday 18th November, Friday 25th November, Friday 2nd December 2022
Venue: Maroochydore Beach
Time: The buses will depart Kuluin SS at 8:50am sharp and will return to school at 11:00am. All students should assemble in the senior under cover area at 8:40am to be marked off on the roll.
Cost: $66 which covers transport and lesson fees. The invoice will be sent via email regarding payment details for BPoint.
Payment Due: Friday 28th October 2022.  See below for payment options.
Transport: Transport to and from the beach will be by bus.
Risk Level: This is a high risk activity. Surf conditions will be assessed prior to all activities. Qualified surfing instructors, surf life savers and Kuluin staff will be providing support and supervision.
What to bring: Students are to wear togs or board shorts, rash shirt, hat and thongs. Students will also need to bring their water bottle and towel to the beach. Please apply sunscreen before school so that it is effective down at the beach.

    All students must have this permission form and the Maroochy Surf School participant waiver completed prior to participating in the surf skills program.  If your child is not participating, please inform the school in writing.
