Dear Parents and Carers
Year 5 students have been invited to attend the Explore Pathways Expo Day at the Sunshine Coast University, Sippy Downs on Wednesday 14th, July (term 3 week 1). The bus will depart school at 11:30am and return by 3:00pm. Transport is provided by USC and there is no cost for parents and carers.
Explore is a partnership activity for schools which is funded through the Australian Government’s Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP).
The Explore Pathways Expo Day offers students an opportunity to visit the Sunshine Coast Campus to learn about various careers through presentations and hands-on activities.
Groups of approximately 20 students will rotate through the exhibits and each group will be accompanied by a teacher and a USC student helper. Each exhibit session will run for 20 minutes during which time the exhibitors will demonstrate their job. There will be a 5-minute break between each rotation.
Important Information
Student dietary requirements: There is a possibility that some of the exhibits may involve food, please complete the permission and medical form below as well as the USC Consent Release Form. Both forms need to be completed please.
Snack Break: USC have scheduled a short snack break and USC will provide light refreshments. USC does not allow the sale of bottled water on campus, but there are water bottle fill stations so students should bring their own water bottle.
As we are only going for a half day visit all school bags will be left at school. Students will be responsible for carrying their water bottle at the venue.
